Fall Update

We had one of the chicks out on the garage floor. Probably the one I cought on top of the waterer several times. So all got moved to the coop tonight.    This one is already going outside the fencing.

When ever I check in on them the get 'chicken' and huddle together.

Yes, this is our apple harvest. One lone apple but it was perfect.

Started roof replacement Saturday morning, got two layers of shingles torn off and amazingly there was no felt paper under shingles. Had to replace 6 4x8 sheets of rotten plywood. All was going well till the rain hit at 4pm, still had half the back to cover and the west side with felt, rain made it very slick so two people all most fell off the roof, wasn't so lucky inside had one person fall thru the living room ceiling while replacing some rotten plywood. All and all no broken bones, no dead bodies laying around and the roofs not leaking with the tarps in place, now I hope the wind doesn't pickup. Should start laying new shingles monday morning. This is how poor people roof.....

RIP Skunk

Oh no!! One of the baby skunks was smashed dead. Probably the one who loved to come to our yard.

Nature

A baby skunk that lives across and down the street found our front yard and a toad.

He came back over this afternoon.

Up close and personal with nature. Fortunately it didn't spray anyone. He has 4 siblings, but they aren't as brave.

Steve put in a fence to keep the chickens in their own yard, and the foxes and critters out.

For Relief Society we had a 'stress free night'. They gave out these 'stress balls' (ballon filled with corn starch).

Somehow, I don't think this relieved stress.

Hay Time

 It's hay time once again. Each year the kids get their picture on top of a bale.

Bonus this year. The farmer is still cutting and baling so he left his tractor in the field.

Big tractors are a magnet.

I also am drying onions. I have a third tier across the room.

Grandmas' Day Camp - Day 4

Day number 4 - the last day. Will and Abby were the flag ceremony people.

Painting the pigs.

Everyone was excited that they were actually looking like pigs.

It wasn't too messy.

After pig painting a refreshing stop for cheap slushies.

Then on to the temple site. Using binoculars they could see the Angel Moroni up close.

Rolling paper beads. Much like basket-weaving for Jennifer.

The other group was doing who knows what.

Abby insisted in learning to finger weave. Jocie and Emmy are ponybead experts.

Decorating the pigs. After putting on the eyes Will said, "Evil Dr. Porkchop".

The pigs drying. We should have used markers instead of puff paints. The activity was called on account of paint everywhere but the pigs.

Skating was the closing activity.

We had a bunch of beginners.

Emmy went around several times.
