It was a dark and dreary day...

...so I decided to update instead of clean. After 7 years of doing wash and sewing (not to mention have the grandkids' playing) in the dungeon aka basement, Steve is finishing it off into actual rooms. There is the storage/furnace room, food storage room, and then the washing, craft, play room.

I don't get why it was never finished (even badly) before, the house was built in 1967. Notice how Steve covered the steel poles, he even put a plug in them so I could have electricity without having to have extension cords all over the floor.

Trevor loves helping with the fun. New insullation is replacing the nasty old stuff. I did catch Steve and Trevor trying to sheetrock over some old stuff.

I found girl legos at a garage sale, Emmy was in heaven. Who knew that was what she really wanted.

Will claimed this $1 find.

Nothing is fun like taking the RV in all its needing to be re-habbed glory out for a spin.

The excitement of a Sunday afternoon never ends.

Trevor and Steve can spend hours discussing new phones. Poor Will is being indoctrinated.

Another day of home improvements. Soon the basement will be worthy of my washer and dryer.

Matt decided he wanted to BBQ chicken after the Jesse James Day mud volleyball tourney. Luckily (?) Ken had 7 roosters he wanted to get rid of.

Six down and one to go. They plucked fairly easily. Then Matt decided to with brauts and hotdogs. 7 frozen chickens in my freezer had to go. 4 went to a big family dinner, 1 to a church friend buying eggs, and two must still be down there chilling out.

Emmy and Reed riding on the roll-back truck. Farm life is full of fun you can't do in the big city.

Another garage sale find.

Abby had chosen the princess one to start with.

Matt is the big 28. 5 + all the individual candles. Mmmmm...carrot cake. Delicious if I do say so myself, and I do.

Emmy and Abby have more garage sale finds on, well, Abby's is kind-of on.

Will is mobile and looking to get in trouble with the markers. All my ironing is now upstairs due to the basement make-over.

Reed doesn't like being around roosters, but can't stay away from the fun. I had 5 roosters that were beginning to crow, I didn't feel like butchering them (I still have the two in the freezer and Matt is working on the basement) so I put them on Craigslist.

The lady who came to pick them up brought a cat taxi and a large shoe box to put them in.

The three in the shoe box were packed in.

I'm chasing the roosters out so Steve can grab them.
