I'm Back

Its been forever!! Lets get you up to date. I've been on a week long (although at times it seemed much longer) trip to Utah. Aunt Helen was celebrating her 90th birthday. She lives in the Provo area, but since we were in Utah we went to Blanding (the Four Corners area) and Manti (where I remember vacationing when young). We put 2,860 miles on the van and heard almost that many stories from dad. We also went to the lake to be with Steve's side of the family - we were told it was to celebrate Christmas (no, they were not joking) but they had forgotten about Christmas being the reason we were there. Mandy did make iced cookies in the shapes of trees and snowmen so there was some holiday spirit. I went to Quilt Camp (making only 2 of the 5 days) and am in the process of another quilt. No I have not finished the quilt from last year's camp, but that's because my basement isn't finished yet (a project that was supposed to be done in July but has yet to get started). Of course the Olympics are keeping me busy, so cleaning, cooking, yard work, etc hasn't even gotten a glance. I have been doing sudoku - its something you can do and watch the olympics. Go USA. We're now in the midst of the garage sale, lots of junk and even more kids is how we operate. I think after buying donuts, lunch, gas back and forth, treats, etc I will clear $15 for 40 hours of work....cha-ching! As you can see from the pictures our tomatoes finally ripened, in fact Reed was selling them at the garage sale and is now rich. The chickens....what can I say. Roosters don't just crow at dawn, its all day long. All 6 of the big males will be taken care of next week. Carl has taken to attacking people, so he will be the first to go. Then the Houdans and BarredRocks. If you're looking for fun and guts join us in the harvest next week. The turkey continues to grow and the hens have yet to lay.
