Its Done

The day started out all nice and quiet (the rooster were in the shop...waiting on death row), and then I went to let out the chickens. I heard a crow! The small yellow bantam rooster was crowing in the coop! FOR SALE 3 pairs of bantam chickens (3 males, 3 females). The BarredRocks and Houdans wait their fates.

The equipment is ready. Matt brings a victim out to his death. I learned I need to get a larger hatchet...or Matt needs to get better aim.

We (and by 'we' I mean Matt and Ken Farnsworth - the guy who came to teach us and who did most of the work) chopped off all the heads first. Then we dipped two in hot water and began removing feathers.

Feather plucking, gutting, and cleaning. Where is OSHA and the CCHD when you need them?.

A successful day.
